The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Friday caught two government officials red-handed while taking bribe from service-seekers in Birgunj, Parsa.
A team from the CIAA, Makawanpur arrested Krishna Nandan Raya Yadav, an accountant at Dhobani rural municipality, and non-gazetted first class officer Ainamul Haq Ansari for taking a bribe of Rs 110,000 from service-seekers for clearing transactions of constructions of road and temple, said a CIAA official.
The team acted on a complaint by service-seekers that the officials sought bribe in serving them. Both of the arrestees have been sent to Makawanpur for further investigation.
