LALITPUR: Friends Club and Himalayan Sherpa Club advanced to the quarter-finals of the Lalit Memorial U-18 Championship here at the ANFA Complex grounds on Friday.
Friends Club defeated Manang Marshyangdi Club 2-1 in the league round match. Anil Maharjan scored a brace for Friends, while Nawal Gurung replied for MMC in their last Group D match. Friends accumulated eight points from four matches to top the group. In another match, Himalayan Sherpa routed Farwestern Football Club 4-1.
Sanjay Dhimal scored two goals, while Anil Ale and Diwas Urau netted one each for the winners. Rajiv Chaudhary scored the consolation goal for Farwest.
