LALITPUR: Nepal Olympic Association has started the special preparation for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
“We have kept nine sports disciplines in priority list and we have already started the preparation for the Games,” said NOC President Jeevan Ram Shrestha at a press meet on Friday. The NOC has shortlisted judo, taekwondo, boxing, karate, archery, athletics, shooting, weightlifting and swimming under the Olympic Solidarity Course.
“We have already sent judoka Phupu Lhamu Khatri to Japan and another judoka Manita Shrestha Pradhan will join her in near future. We will send two to four players from each of the nine sports disciplines for foreign training under the programme,” Shrestha added. — HNS
