KATHMANDU: The Nepali U-23 football team suffered its second straight loss in the group stage match of the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta on Thursday.
Two days after a 1-0 defeat against Japan in the first match, Nepal faced a 2-0 loss at the hands of Vietnam.
Anh Duc Nguyen put Vietnam ahead in the 13th minute and Phan van Duc doubled the tally in the 64th minute.
Nepal will now face Pakistan on Saturday.
Despite the two defeats, Nepal are not out of the race as they still have chance to be among the best third-placed teams.
