A child was killed in a road mishap in Jhapa district on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as a seven-year-old Avishekh Shrestha of Birtamod-8, said Assistant Police Inspector at District Traffic Police office, Jhapa, Yam Khadka.
The accident took place when the motorcycle (Sa 3 Pa 2796) heading toward Chandragadhi from Birtamod hit the child while he was crossing the road. Seriously injured Shrestha died while undergoing treatment at Omsai Pathivara Hospital, Bhadrapur.
